I
am professional catfish guide who lives in Saginaw Texas. I offer
guided catfishing trips on Lake Lewisville, Eagle Mountain Lake, Cedar
Creek Lake, Ray Roberts, Lake Grapevine and the Brazos River.
I have been fishing for catfish only for a
long time and am also the manufacturer of many sucessful catfishing products and catfish bait, as well as being the distributor for a
catfish bait made by my good friend and fishing partner. I am
also the found of The Texas Catfishing
Resource which is an
internet website and catfish club focused in Texas Catfishing.
I
spend a lot of time fishing and chasing down catfish and learning their
habits and patterns each season so I can pass my fishing sucess on to
my clients.
I
am a seasoned catfish angler with a proven track record in finding and
catching channel catfish, blue catfish, flathead catfish and trophy
blue catfish. I enjoy all types of fishing for catfish but my favorite
would be rod and reel fishing for trophy blue catfish. You just cannot
beat the excitement of tangling with a monster blue catfish on the end
of your fishing rod.
I
have been featured in many local and national media publications for my
expertise in fishing for catfish as well as jug fishing. Some of these
publications include In Fisherman Magazine, In Fisherman's Catfish
Guide, Texas Fish and several publications in Texas Fish and Game
Magazine.
I pretty much live and breathe catfishing as
you can see it's a big part of my life.
I
take all kinds of folks fishing for catfish on my guided fishing trips
from those that just want to go with their friends and family and catch
a nice mess of catfish, to the serious catfish angler that wants to
learn more about finding and catching catfish.
I provide a safe and family friendly
environment that is focused on my clients!

More
about North Texas Catfish Guide Service....
First
and foremost, everyone always wants to know why they call me Redneck.
Well, it's just one of those things that someone calls you, and it
sticks and everyone starts calling you that. I started up about 5 years
ago and just stuck with me. Half the people I know don't even know my
real name anymore, so everyone just calls me Redneck.
I
grew up in the outdoors hunting and fishing and camping has been a part
of my life as long as I can remember. I grew up as a child at Possum
Kingdom Lake in Texas fishing with my father and grandfather on a
continual basis, and I guess that is where my love for fishing began.
As
a kid I would spend hours on end fishing at Possum Kingdom Lake for
Catfish, and Perch. We had a boat dock there at the lake and I would
set Yo-Yo's on the boat dock for catfish, and help run trotlines for
catfish, somebody was always fishing around there either out in the
boat or on the boat dock so there was always something to be involved
in.
My
interest in fishing and camping continued throughout my teenage years
and I kept fishing every chance I got. I used to spend time fishing
Eagle Mountain Lake, Possum Kingdom, Grapevine and Marshall Creek from
a 14 Ft Flat bottom Jon Boat and spent lot's of time running trotlines
and juglines fishing for catfish, and I even chased some bass and
crappie now and then.
As
I got older my interest in fishing for Catfish increased and I spent
more and more time catfishing and less time trying to catch bass and
crappie. I had always enjoyed catfishing more than anything else, so I
eventually ended up selling off my fishing lures and light duty
equipment and traded up to start fishing for catfish only.
Many years later in 2001 I started the Texas Catfishing Resource, and internet site that was dedicated to
promoting and exchanging information on fishing for catfish. The Texas Catfishing
Resource was an immediate
success and is the first and only organized group of Texas Catfish
Anglers.
The Texas Catfishing Resource
currently has about 1100 active Texas Catfish Anglers as members and is
still growing everyday.
Some folks tell me I have catfish on the
brain. In addition to being a professional catfish guide I also am the
manufacturer of Redneck's Catfish
Bait Soap. Redneck's
Catfish Bait Soap is an Old Fashioned Homemade Lye Soap Catfish Bait
the is commonly used as a catfish bait for jug fishing with juglines or
for Trotlines, but also makes a great rod and reel bait for catfishing
because it stays on the hook so well. Redneck's Catfish
Bait Soap is made from a
65 year old family catfish bait recipe. Redneck's Catfish Bait Soap is
a true homemade
catfish bait.
I started selling the Catfish Bait Soap a few years ago when I had reached the
point I was giving so much of it away that I couldn't afford it
anymore. We put the Catfish Bait Soap available for sale on the internet and put
it in a few stores around Texas and the rest of the Catfish Bait Soap story is history. When you make a quality
product it sells itself and that is certainly the case with Redneck's Catfish
Bait Soap.
I
had sold Redneck's Catfish Bait Soap on the internet and through local
stores for a few months when I started searching for an alternative to
the old juglines I had been using. I had always used bleach bottle
juglines and 2 liter coke bottle juglines and was tired of them taking
up space in my boat. I began toying around with different jugline
designs and finally came up with a good design and made up sevral dozen
of these fishing jugs for my own use.
People kept seeing me at the lake and
started asking about my juglines and where they could by some so it was not
too long and Redneck's
Juglines
were born, we started up a small shop and started manufacturing the
juglines for sale on the internet and through local stores. Just like
our catfish bait soap, Redneck's Juglines for Jug
Fishing were an instant
success and our phone was ringing off the hook from folks wanting to
buy our juglines.
I kept selling our original juglines for jug fishing
and then in early 2004 we began playing around with some modifications
to the original juglines to make them "flag" or notify you when you had
a fish on the jugline or when the jugline had been "hit". We made these
modifications and started testing these new fishing jugs and before we
had even finished testing them had people all over the area lakes
asking about these new fishing jugs and where and when they could get
some. It was not long after I finished our testing that I started
selling Redneck's
"Fish On" Flagging Catfish Juglines.
I still sell our our Redneck's Original Juglines in addition to our Fish On Flagging Catfish
Juglines.
I had been using a catfish bait manufactured
by my friend Benny Roberts in Decatur Texas for quite some time called Sure
Shot Catfish Punch Bait
and had a lot of people asking me about this catfish bait because it is
not sold in stores. I decided to start distibuting Sure
Shot Catfish Punch Bait
for my friend Benny Roberts so there would be an outlet for his Sure
Shot Catfish Punch Bait in
the Dallas Fort Worth area and also so there would be an online store
that could accept credit cards for his catfish bait.
I
started guiding for catfish during the midst of all this because people
were always asking me to take them catfishing because they wanted to
learn more about my espertise in finding and catching channel catfish
and blue catfish
