Fort Worth Fishing Guide Video.
A quick action video from one of our guided catfishing trips in the Fort Worth area. The lakes we fish are a short drive from anywhere in the DFW Metroplex, and the catfishing is good all year long.

On the Water Near Fort Worth.
This video was filmed on a winter trip, when big blue catfish are on the move and trophy-class fish show up on rod and reel. Winter is still one of the best times of year to catch the fish of a lifetime near Fort Worth.

Fort Worth Fishing, Close to Home.
North Texas Catfish Guide Service is based in Fort Worth, and our home water is Eagle Mountain Lake, on the northwest side of town. Almost every trip launches from Lakeview Marina, about 25 minutes from downtown Fort Worth and less than an hour from most of the Metroplex.
By request, depending on season and scheduling, we also guide on Lake Worth, Lake Lewisville, Lake Ray Roberts, Lake Grapevine, Benbrook Lake and Lake Bridgeport. See all the lakes we fish.
Blue, Channel and Flathead Catfish.
Blue catfish are the main event on most Fort Worth trips. They bite year-round, with the best numbers from fall through spring and a real chance at a trophy in the cooler months. Channel catfish bite hard all year and are at their best in late spring and summer, when the action can be nonstop.
Flathead catfish are a specialty fish, with limited trips from July through October. Seasonal white bass and crappie trips are also available when the timing is right.
Winter Is Trophy Time.
Our trophy blue catfish trips run mid-November through February on Eagle Mountain Lake, and by request on Lake Lewisville and Lake Worth. Big blues stack up in predictable patterns when the water cools, which makes them easier to find. These trips target fish in the 20–50+ lb range on rod and reel, in broad daylight.
Trophy trips are capped at 4 anglers, and 3 is ideal. Every fish over 5 lbs is photographed and released, a policy we've followed for 29 years to keep these fisheries strong. Here's what a trophy catfish trip is really like.
Everything Is Included.
Every trip is private and includes the boat, rods, reels, bait and tackle. We fish from a 2026 SeaArk Pro Guide Patriot with Garmin electronics, so we can find fish fast and keep you comfortable. Bring food, water or soft drinks (no alcohol at any time), a small cooler and a Texas fishing license, and we'll handle the rest.
Half-day trips start at $375 for 1–2 anglers, and each extra angler is $100. Catfish under 5 lbs can be kept, and fish cleaning is included on standard trips. Kids 5 and older are welcome. See full rates and trip options.
