Welcome to North Texas Catfish Guide Service (“NTCGS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of txcatfishguide.com and guided fishing trips booked with us.
By using the website or booking a trip, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or book a trip.

Website use
You agree to use the website only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Attempt to break into, scrape abusively, or disrupt the site
- Post or transmit malware, spam, or illegal content through our forms or contact channels
- Misrepresent your identity when contacting us or booking
Website content (text, photos, logos, videos, fishing reports) is owned by NTCGS or used with permission. You may not copy or reuse it for commercial purposes without our written permission. Personal, non-commercial sharing of a trip photo you appear in is fine.
Bookings, rates, and payments
Trip rates, trip lengths, party limits, and what’s included are described on our Catfish Guide Rates page and related booking pages. We may update rates and inclusions from time to time.
A booking is confirmed when we accept your request and any required deposit is received, subject to our Deposit and Cancellation Policy.
You are responsible for providing accurate contact information and showing up on time at the agreed meeting location.
Cancellations, weather, and rescheduling
Deposits, cancellations, no-shows, and weather-related changes are governed by our Deposit and Cancellation Policy and any written confirmation we send you. Outdoor fishing depends on weather, wind, lightning, water conditions, and safety. We may delay, shorten, reschedule, or cancel a trip when conditions are unsafe or unsuitable. In those cases, we will work with you on a makeup date or other remedy consistent with our published policy.
Guest responsibilities and safety
Guided fishing involves inherent risks of outdoor and water-based activity, including but not limited to boat travel, weather, slips, tackle, hooks, and wildlife.
By booking and boarding, you agree to:
- Follow the guide’s instructions on the boat and at the ramp
- Wear a life jacket when required or requested
- Not be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs during the trip
- Disclose relevant medical or mobility concerns that could affect safety
- Supervise minors in your party at all times
- Treat equipment and other guests respectfully
We reserve the right to refuse or end a trip early (without refund beyond what our cancellation policy requires) if a guest’s behavior creates a safety risk or violates these Terms.
Licenses and regulations
Guests are responsible for any required Texas fishing licenses or stamps unless we expressly state otherwise in writing for your trip. You agree to follow Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations and any lake-specific rules. Keep limits and possession rules are the guest’s responsibility once fish are taken.
Assumption of risk and limitation of liability
Fishing charters and related activities carry risks that cannot be eliminated. To the fullest extent allowed by Texas law, you assume the risks associated with participating in a guided fishing trip.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NTCGS, Chad Ferguson, and our agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from website use or trip participation. Our total liability for any claim related to a trip or the website will not exceed the amount you paid us for that trip (or, for website-only claims, $100).
Some limitations may not apply where prohibited by law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct where such a waiver is not allowed.
Photos and media
We often photograph or film catches and trips for our website, social media, and marketing. By booking, you grant NTCGS permission to use photos or video that include you or your party for those purposes, without compensation, unless you tell us in writing before the trip that you prefer not to appear in marketing. We will make reasonable efforts to honor that request.
Privacy
Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Third-party services
Booking tools, payment processors, maps, and social platforms linked from our site are operated by third parties. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services.
Changes
We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page and changing the effective date. Continued use of the site or booking after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Tarrant County, Texas, will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or your trip, to the extent permitted by law.
