Fishing Report September 6th 2010

Catfish caught on a North Texas Catfish Guide Service trip

The weather has been great the past week but it has scattered the catfish on Eagle Mountain Lake. We are still catching catfish but having to work a little harder at it the last few days.

We filmed a short segment about catfishing on Eagle Mountain with Channel 8 yesterday morning, I am still trying to see if I can get a copy of the video. After that Gordon and I went out and did some “fun” fishing, first time I have fished without clients in months. We caught some nice channel catfish and blue catfish but no big fish. We did catch fish at every location we tried.

I broke my elbow and my wrist this weekend so I am going to be handicapped for a few weeks. I am looking for a deckhand for a couple of trips that i don’t have covered if anyone is interested.

I expect fishing to continue to be good for another few weeks until the lake begins turning over. Water temp was 80 degrees when I launched today so it will not be long. I am starting to get a lot of calls for trophy blue catfish trips so make sure you get on the books early to get your choice of dates for winter fishing.
